Changing your Dial-Up Number

We are moving to a new single dial-up number for all customers throughout Australia. If you have a broadband (ADSL) account, this change applies to your backup dial-up only, and you DO NOT need to make any changes to your broadband connection.
All dial-up customers need to change the dial-up number in their settings to the new number:
0198 333 550
(ZERO ONE NINE EIGHT THREE THREE THREE FIVE FIVE ZERO)
This number is a local call from almost anywhere in Australia. Chariot is not responsible for call connection charges and cannot guarantee the call rate that you will be charged when using the number provided. We urge you to check with your Telecommunications carrier to confirm call charges when dialing into our access number (Telstra 1300 362 162).
Customers also need to ensure that they are logging in with their full username. For most customers this is the same as your e-mail address, eg. jbloggs@sa.chariot.net.au.
IMPORTANT! Our dial-up number is charged at the cost of a local call from a land line only. If you are calling from any other service (e.g a mobile telephone), you may incur higher call charges.
This page describes how to change the dial-up number on your computer. Please follow the appropriate set of instructions below.

Windows 95, 98 and ME
- Double click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Then double click the "Dial-Up Networking" icon.
- In the "Dial-Up Networking" window, right-click your Chariot connection icon and left-click "Properties" at the bottom of the list.
- On the "General" tab, edit the number to be 0198 333 550 Click OK.
Windows 2000
- From the Start menu, select "Settings", then choose "Network and Dial-up Connections."
- In the "Network and Dial-up Connections" Window, right-click your Chariot icon and then left click on "Properties" at the bottom of the list.
- On the "General" tab, edit the number to be 0198 333 550 Click OK.
Windows XP
- From the Start menu, choose "Connect To" then click Show all connections.
Note: If you don't see "Connect To" in the Start menu, the choose Start -> Programs or (All Programs) -> Accessories -> Communications -> Network Connections.
- n the "Network Connections" window, right-click your Chariot icon and then left-click on "Properties."
- On the "General" tab, edit the number to be 0198 333 550 Click OK.
Windows Vista
- Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.
- In the "Network Connections" window, right-click your Chariot icon and then left-click on "Properties."
- On the "General" tab, edit the number to be 0198 333 550 Click OK.
Mac OS 9
- Open the Remote Access Control Panel.
- Edit the existing telephone number to be 0198 333 550
- Click Connect and log on to Chariot to make certain that the change remains permanent.
Mac OS X
- Open Internet Connect.
- Edit the existing telephone number to be 0198 333 550
- Click Connect and log on to Chariot to make certain that the change remains permanent.
