We do not produce many litters - only one or so a year if that. Any litters we breed are for the purpose of producing pugs for our breeding program or for showing.
We undertake minimum breeding for maximum results, ensuring soundness, health and type for future generations of Carillion pugs.
We aim to:
- produce pugs that meet all aspects of the breed standard
- ensure pugs are placed in the best homes possible
- minimise inherited problems in our pugs
We hope to achieve these aims through the careful selection of pugs whose pedigree and conformation matches the desired 'type' of pug we hope to produce, and breed only those pugs whose health checks come up clear on key health problems.

Please be aware that we sell only pet quality pups, and we do not export overseas. If you are interested in acquiring a pug puppy from us, please read on.
A lot of thought, effort, planning and commitment goes into producing a litter, and we want to ensure that those puppies we sell are placed with the right people - so please don't be offended if you are faced with a number of probing questions.
Most registered breeders rarely if ever advertise, and most maintain waiting lists. It pays to get on a list and be patient. Pugs are not readily available - they have small litters, and there are not many breeders in this state.
We only commit to selling pugs for pets - this means they are not 'show potential' - it does not mean they are runts, unsound or sickly - these pups just don't measure up to how we interpret the breed standard and where we are going with our breeding program. They are less likely to be competitive in the show ring or have physical traits that are not within the scope of our breeding plan.
All pet puppies are sold with a pedigree, limited register only, this means they are not for showing or breeding. Pugs are not the easiest of dogs to breed and for this reason we prefer that the effort required to breed a healthy litter is left to those who have dedicated the time, effort and resources..... and to some extent are stupid enough to do this kind of thing.
Please be aware that although you can expect several things from responsible breeders - there are several things we will expect from you as the puppy's new owner, these include that the pug will be:
- returned to us if you are unable to keep the pug - at any stage of the pugs life
- kept in a secure yard and not permitted to roam free
- fed predominantly a natural diet
and
- the pug must spend as much time as practical with you as part of your family
If you are prepared to meet these requirements, we will be happy to hear from you!
